KTM Releases 2023 KTM SX-E 3
If you’re just getting into riding motocross or know someone who is, KTM has good news for you. They’ve recently released a new and improved version of their KTM SX-E, the KTM SX-E 3, which is geared toward younger riders and those just getting into the sport.
This bike is promised to improve the riding experience for the inexperienced because of a range of new features and design considerations. This 2023 version of the bike is unique because of its attention for those who aren’t yet fully prepared to ride more powerful or complicated bikes. The announcement has recently come out of Murrieta California and has been met with positive support.
Not only is this new bike friendlier to those who may not have their legs under them, it’s also electric and made with the environment in mind. This is the third such bike of its type, next to the Freeride E-XC and KTM SX-E 5.
This bike is different from those because of the tailored power output, the decrease in wheel size, and the shortening of its seat, but it offers the same durability and quality the brand is known for. The KTM SX-E 5 in particular has been widely adopted by young riders and enthusiasts across the country, which led KTM to release this new model.
The company made sure to emphasize that their eye for quality, technology, and innovation was kept to their usual standard with this new ride. For example, this bike possesses the same chromium molybdenum frame and durable suspension as the previous model, making it a lightweight staple for riders of any age and skill level. It’s also worth nothing that the new KTM SX-E 3 will still feel and perform like a “big bike” but will be packaged and perform with a more user-friendly approach in mind.
While both bikes have an identical motor, the newer model’s output has been reduced to 3.8 kW, from the 5 kW of the KTM SX-E 5. The battery is stored in die-cast aluminum, for extra protection and prevention of emergency overheating or overperformance. This battery ensures the KTM SX-E 3 will run for up to two hours at a time in between every charge. The bike also comes standard with 35 mm non-adjustable forks, which enhance suspension to keep riders comfortable and relaxed while riding through any terrain.
Because the KTM SX-E 3 is smaller and made for less experienced riders, it’s been fitted with ten-inch aluminum wheels. These wheels, in addition to being made for smaller riders, are also designed to compliment the 600 mm seat. Every element of the bike is designed to be in unison with each other, which simplifies each ride and lets riders make memories every day on the track. In addition, the newer model’s seat can be adjusted in order to lower the front fork in the triple clamps.
Finally, the KTM SX-E 3 has had a roll-over sensor installed, which will automatically cut power to the bike if it becomes unstable and fails to remain upright. The sensor is linked to a key which is worn on the wrist. The newer model is quieter and calmer than most motocross bikes, encouraging riders to ride in areas where riding is less accepted in general. Charging the bike is simple because of a 900 W charging supply which can be connected to a 110 or 230 V socket.
KTM is excited for the release of this new model, and believe it will become the gold standard for smaller bikes specifically designed for inexperienced and younger riders. The company hopes the new bike will expand their brand and bring enthusiasm to riders of all ages.
